Our Inclusion Toolkit is Here!
In 2017-2018, the Seattle Children's PlayGarden partnered with King County Public Health's Best Start for Kids Initiative to research the topic of inclusion of kids with disabilities in our community and share what we learned. Our goal is simple: to help other organizations throughout King County to feel empowered to Say "Yes" to kids with disabilities in their programs.
You don't have to be an expert on disability, you just have to be open and willing to try.

About the book:
PlayGarden staff facilitated a series of interviews and focus groups with kids with and without disabilities, parents, siblings, and other youth-care providers including representatives from the Woodland Park Zoo, Burke Museum, Seattle Mariners, Rainier Dance Center, Kids Quest Museum, Coyote Central, and others to hear their stories and learn from their experiences. We took all of those stories and divided them into the following five sections:
Section 1: Say "Yes!" at Parks & Playgrounds
Section 2: Say "Yes!" at Soccer, Dance and Beyond
Section 3: Say "Yes!" at Zoos, Museums & Festivals
Section 4: Say "Yes!" at Ball games & Sporting Events
Section 5: Say "Yes!" to Inclusion Everyday
