Introducing: Pathway for PLAY!

The Seattle Children’s PlayGarden, in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is creating a “Pathway for Play!” to welcome visitors and lead them through our enchanted one-acre urban oasis of woodlands, wildlife habitat, farm life, flower and vegetable gardens, and orchards. The Pathway for Play will add important safety, accessibility, and visibility features to our park and will include the Lou Ann Bullard Memorial Garden.

Project Features

  • Front gate signage will replace the current temporary banner

  • Entry art elements will increase street recognition

  • Self-latching gates will be installed to increase safety

  • An informational kiosk will serve as a hub for information about the PlayGarden

  • Ground level pathway lighting will illuminate the long pathway from the street to the Garden House and Field House

  • Interactive play features including a "wavy walkway," "pebble chimes," and other delightful surprises
